Yattendon Estates Ltd
The Yattendon Estate is the amalgamation of several smaller estates acquired by the first Lord Iliffe between 1925 and 1940. In 1955, Yattendon Estate was formed to hold the land and run the in-hand farms. Yattendon Farms was amalgamated with the Estates company in 1975 and on 1st January 2003, the entire business became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Yattendon Investment Trust.

Yattendon Estates Ltd - Yattendon Estates Head Office - Barn CloseToday, it represents a total of nearly 9,000 acres divided between in-hand farms, let farms, woodlands, Christmas tree areas, let small holdings and grazings.

The company owns many properties available to let including houses and commercial buildings.

These include a butcher, garage, pub/hotel, general stores, hairdresser, blacksmith and brewery - which are located in Yattendon, Berkshire.

Yattendon produces Nordman Fir and Norway Spruce Christmas trees from its 500 acres. It has a thriving retail area selling freshly cut Christmas trees and a large selection of Christmas decorations, during the Christmas season.

There are 52 miles of footpaths, bridleways and byways open to the public.

Crops grown on the Estate's 3,800 acres include wheat, barley, oats, oil seed rape, peas, beans and linseed. The land is also used to keep 550 dairy cattle and the Estates can produce 4,700 tons of flour a year.

The Company is run on a day-to-day basis by Nigel Petter (Land Agent), George Bremner (Company Secretary), Alastair Jeffrey (Farms Director) and Sally Kurach (Estates Administrator).

There are 17 staff employed on the Estate and 14 on the Farms, in addition to looking after 26
pensioners or pensioners' widows, most of whom are housed on the Estate.
